ON AIR: 2010 Cheer Rally

It gets bigger, better and blue-er every year.

On July 9, Friday at 4:30PM the Blue Eagle Gym will witness the Ateneo de Manila Eagles take wing and go ON AIR to celebrate a new school year, and a new season for the University’s varsity teams.

The traditional athletes’ send-off will showcase Team Ateneo to the community as the Blue Babble Battalion–the force behind One Big Fight–cheer them on with school yells and a stellar drum line performance.

Also backing up the athletes this season is Ateneo’s new official outfitter, Nike. Trading stripes for a swoosh, the Ateneo athletes are ready to compete in the coming season. Nike is also coming out with snazzy new Ateneo sports apparel for Ateneo fans to look forward to.

Also taking the Eagles on air is Halikinu Radio. Now on its sixth year, the blue crew is bringing the Blue and White back on the airwaves on NU 107.5 every Thursday night at 8. Starting July 8, fill your Thursday nights with Ateneo sports news and views from hosts Rick Olivares, Chuck Araneta and Evee Simon (who happens to be co-hosting the Cheer Rally with Gico Sinjian).

The Eagles are not only going to be on air, but also online! The Athletics Office will launch goAteneo.com–the new home of Ateneo sports–at the Cheer Rally. The new website gives Team Ateneo fans up-to-date sports stories, stats, and shots of all the games.

So troop to the Blue Eagle Gym, wear your school spirit on your sleeve, cheer your lungs out, and go On Air with the Ateneo community on July 9.
