Ateneo wins V-League opener

Pre-tournament favorite Ateneo pounced out a 25-19, 25-19, 28-26 win over Far Eastern University in the Shakey’s V-League second conference Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

[Thailand native] Surasawadee Boonyuen debuted with a 13-hit performance, including two blocks, as she complemented well with mainstays Gretchen Ho, Bea Pascual, Fille Cainglet, Dzi Gervacio and Kara Acevedo in leading the Lady Eagles to the victory.
