Ateneo Baseball team 3-0 in UAAP 74

The Ateneo De Manila Baseball team is having one of their best seasons. The Blue Eagles defeated the University of the Philippines batters, 14-3, in five innings on Thursday, January 19 at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The Blue Eagles started strong with 6 runs in the first inning. They followed it with 2 and 4 runs in the second and third innings but was unable to score in the fourth. The Eagles got 2 more runs on top of the fifth. They also shut out the Maroons in the first 4 innings before the UP batters got 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The mercy rule in baseball takes effect in the fifth inning.

Adriane Bernardo, Kevin Ramos, and Matt Laurel had 3 runs each. The Blue Eagles had 17 hits, 15 more than UP, with only 2 errors.

Ateneo is on top of the team standings with a 3-0 win-loss record.

The Blue Eagles will face the University of Santo Tomas Baseball team on Sunday, 7:30 am, at the Rizal Memorial Baseball stadium.
